Scott Brown (R), Elizabeth Warren (D): U.S. Senate

Scott Brown has represented Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate since a January 2010 special election held to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by the late Ted Kennedy. Brown defeated state Attorney General Martha Coakley with 1,168,107 votes, or 51.9 percent, to her 1,058,682 votes, or 47.1 percent.

Ed Markey (D), Tom Tierney (R): 5th Congressional District

Ed Markey has been the Congressman representing Winchester for the past 36 years. He faces off against Tom Tierney, a 69-year-old consulting actuary and consumer activist. In 2010, Markey defeated Republican Gerry Dembrowski by about a 2-to-1 margin.

Jason Lewis (D), George Georgountzos (D): Mass. House 31st District

Jason Lewis has been the state representative representing Winchester since 2008. He faces off against George Geogountzos, a local attorney. Jason Lewis beat John DePinto this year for the Republican vote.

Stoneham Updates From The Polls

Good luck voting!

Check out a precinct-by-precinct breakdown of the votes cast in Stoneham on election day.

@10:30 p.m.: State Rep. Jason Lewis wins re-election, beating challenger George Georgountzos. 

@9 p.m.: Stoneham Town Clerk Maria Sagarino announced results in Town Hall Hearing Room. State Rep. Jason Lewis wins six of seven precincts, while challenger George Georgountzos wins precinct 6 — his home precinct.

@6:45 p.m.: An election work with the Town Clerk's office said that turnout slowed some in the afternoon, but overall it has been "steadily busy." The after work crowd is now hitting the voting booths. Just over one hour remains for Stonehamites to vote, as polls close at 8 p.m. Voters spotted standing in line to vote at 8 p.m. will be permitted to cast their ballots, but no one else will be allowed to join the line after 8 p.m. 

@6:30 p.m.: As of 6 p.m., more than 10,000 Stoneham voters had cast their ballots on election day, according to the Town Clerk's office. Ten thousand, four hundred twenty-three of the 15,285 registered voters in Stoneham had voted, representing 68.1 percent of the voting populate.

@4 p.m.: Between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., voters were still coming to the polling station, but not quite as frequently as the morning and early afternoon hours.

@1:30 p.m.: A Stoneham Senior Center shuttle made visits to Town Hall so senior voters could participate in the election process.

Election worker Sandra Snyder, who has been the Town Clerk's office for about six years, explained that she was in the process of adding roughly 1,100 absentee ballots into the election data system.

Meanwhile, fellow election work Michelle Geagher, a four-year employee with the clerk's office, said that she hoped to see 10,000 voters participate in the election.

@11:30 a.m.: As of 11 a.m., 4,573 of the 15,285 registered voters in Stoneham had cast their ballots on election day. Stoneham Town Clerk Maria Sagarino said she hopes to see 80-85 percent of the registered voters in town participate in the election. Here's an running tally of the voting, according to figures provided by Sagarino:

7 a.m.: 749

8 a.m.: 1,716

9 a.m.: 2,635

10 a.m.: 3,789

11 a.m.: 4,573

@11:20 a.m.: One Stoneham woman claimed she was "doing God's will" by voting for the Romney-Ryan ticket. A Stoneham man claimed "Obama did a terrible job" in his four years as president, adding he voted for Romney. 

Four voters claimed they voted for Romney, while one supported Obama.

@11:15 a.m.: Parking lots near Town Hall are packed, and caution should be used navigating Emerson and Central Streets, as it's tight driving through those areas.

@8:30 a.m.: Stonehamites are already tweeting Tuesday morning about long lines at the polling place at Town Hall.

"Stoneham polls are a buzz at 7:50am and I voted in my first presidential election," tweeted zach_nardone73.

"Just voted.....huge turnout in Stoneham," tweeted jlpHebert.

Meanwhile, Twitter user BunamiBoy tweeted: "Huge turn out this morning at the polls."
