Woburn's Local Census Being Sent to Your Mailbox

The local census surveys have been sent out. Residents have 10 days after receipt to return it.

Keep an eye on the mailbox for Woburn's local census.

According to a report on the City of Woburn's web site, the annual local census is once again underway. Almost 16,000 forms were mailed to every household in the city. The forms are due back at City Hall within ten days after receipt.

Under state law, if a census is not returned from a residence, the voters in that house are designated inactive, with inconvenience to the voters and extra costs for additional mailings.

The census is also the primary source for proof of residency now and into the future. For example, some public jobs as well as schools require proof of residency. This also applies to the new Honor Roll on Woburn Common.
