Goodyear School Leader Chosen for 2012-13

School will have "head teacher," not principal.

Mr. Ken Kessaris will be the head teacher, said Superintendent Mark Donovan in an online statement.

According to Supt. Donovan, Mr. Kessaris is currently completing a School Administration program and will be eligible to be certified as an elementary principal in the fall.

"He is well respected by his colleagues," said the superintendent.

"As head teacher, Mr. Kessaris will be the main point of contact for parents, and he’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school," said Supt. Donovan. 

Both the superintendent and Assistant Superintendent Gary Reese are expected to have higher profiles at , supporting Mr. Kessaris and the building assistants.

School officials expect to search for a full-time principal during the 2012-13 school year and make an appointment for the fall of 2013.

Supt. Donovan said that a meet-and-greet with the new head teacher is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 4.

Former Goodyear School Principal Christopher Heath left his position in Woburn to earlier this summer.
