Arlington Throttles Previously Unbeaten Woburn

The Spy Ponders rolled to a 40-6 win over the visiting Tanners.

Friday night was a battle of two unbeaten teams in Arlington. But it was the Spy Ponders who proved their prowess as they throttled visiting Woburn to clinch the Middlesex League Liberty Division title.

At halftime Woburn trailed by just a 10-0 margin, but the Arlington pulled away in the second half for a 40-6 win that dropped the Tanners to 5-1 on the season. The Spy Ponders are now 6-1 on the campaign.

Running back Chris Jewett scampered 52 yards for the only Woburn points of the day midway through the fourth quarter. Arlington bounced back quickly with a 94-yard touchdown on the ensuing kickoff to seal the win.
