Great defensive play by James Taft, David Langlois, Peter Cole, Ryan Qualey, Jonathan Avery, Matt Qualey, Dylan Thompson, John Lafferty, John Zakrewski, Ryan Ludwig, Eyan Russell, Jared Zolubos, Evan Vienneau, Emanuel Polanco, and Rennie Cyprian, forced Reading to punt again, putting the ball on the Woburn 22-yard line. The Trojans moved the ball down the field with the help of great blocking by the offensive squad. Faced with 4th and 4, quarterback Ryan Qualey handed the ball to Jared Zolubos, who was forced out of bounds at the 5-yard line. Two plays later, John Zakrewski crossed the goal line for six more points. Chiary was perfect on the day with his second kick through the uprights.

The Gulde Insurance Agency cheerleading squad continued to cheer loudly throughout the entire game and kept the team and crowd fired up.

The score remained 16-0 until the start of the 4th quarter. A nice 30 yard run by John Zakrewski put Woburn on Reading’s 23-yard line. Key blocks by John Lafferty, Matt Qualey, Peter Cole, Jonathan Avery, James Taft, and David Langlois, allowed Ludwig to take the ball to the endzone for his second touchdown of the day. The extra point attempt was unsuccessful.

The only points for Reading came from a touchdown late in the fourth quarter with their extra point attempt foiled by Woburn’s Dylan Thompson and John Lafferty.

The Trojan’s orange offense, including Cash Kingstad, Dylan Zolubos, Jayson Blouin, Kris Chiary, Colin Harkins, Ahriq Mason, Ryan Dever, Cameron Chute, Jack Aylward, David Nardone, and Jaden Russell, finished the game strong by converting multiple first downs, which kept Reading off the field the remainder of the game.

The D1 team will play Wakefield in Wakefield next Sunday morning.
