E1 Trojans Lose to Wakefield

The following was submitted by Woburn Pop Warner:

Woburn E-1 Trojans sponsored by the Woburn Loyal Order of Moose lost to Wakefield Sunday 13 – 7. Woburn kicked off to start the game the kick was miscued and they got the ball on our 40 yard line. Our first defensive set went like this. 1st. down they tried run up the middle and were met at the line by #55 Tyler Farren and #44 Jack Mac Donald. The 2nd Play was run to the middle left for a 6 yard gain. They got a first down on the next play a 5 yard run to the left. the next play was a long run to our 18 yard line. The ball was fumbled on the next play and pounced on by #44 for a Woburn recovery. Woburns 1st. offensive series started out well with a 5 yard run to the right by #70 Nick Puleo, a 2 yard run to the left by #23 Joao Germano and then a six yard run to the left by Pedro Germano for a first down. Woburn only gained 1 yard on the next four plays and turned the ball over on downs. On wake fields second play #48 Thyago Eller forced and recovered a fumble. On our next offensive series we did have some nice runs behind blockers #57 Gavin Nigro ,#41 Devon Mc Laughlin,#40 Xavier Etienne,#64 Mike Mahoney,#58 Matt McCarthy, but we ended up turning it over on downs due to some untimely penalties that had us at 4th  and 30. Wakefield then took only 2 plays to score a touchdown. The extra point attempt was stopped by #71 Jake Daniell. Our next offensive series we went 4 and out. Woburns defense went back to work and with some good tackling #72 Mason Parziale,#77 Killian Hayes,#55Tyler Farren and ,#71 Jake Daniell ,#13 Andrew Taft Wakefield turned the ball over on downs. We got three plays in and the we fumbled and they recovered.Wakefield ran 1 play a reverse that fooled everyone on the field for an easy TD run.the extra point attempt was stopped by #21 at the halftime mark. We received the ball at the start of the 2nd half and were downed at our 30 yard line we had a couple of short runs a 2 yard by #21 Pedro Gernamo a 5 yard by #70 Nick Puleo and a 2 yard by #7 Alex Fishlin but did not get the first down. Our defence held them to 4 and out. On the 2nd. Offensive play #7 Alex Fishlin ran left and cut up through the line for a 12 yard gain the first of three 1st. downs in that series ending in a touchdown run by #48 Thyago Eller and our extra point attempt was good. We gave up a couple of 1st. downs but forced them to turn the ball over . we only got one offensive play off before time ran out. Great effort guys better luck next game.
