Melrose Stuffs Woburn in Division Title Game
The Tanners couldn't keep up with the Red Raiders on Friday night, falling 31-7.
Melrose withstood an early Woburn push and pulled away in the ensuing minutes to defeat the Tanners in the Division 3 Northwest championship game.
Woburn pushed the ball inside the Melrose 10-yard line on the opening drive of the game, but the Red Raiders held and kept the game scoreless. Melrose then scored the game’s next 28 points and went on to a 31-7 win.
Senior Rob Voci scored the only Tanner points of the contest with a one-yard quarterback keeper to slice the score to 28-7, but it was too little, too late for Woburn.
