The Woburn E2 Trojans sponsored by the traveled to Winchester for the first game of the season. There was a lot of anticipation and excitement in the air on this beautiful and sunny day in September.
The captains of the day leading their team today was Bobby Lafferty and Symon Sathler . The Woburn E2 Trojans won the coin toss and so it was time for the offense to get to work first which consisted of Symon Sathler, Bobby Lafferty, Steven ( Biggs) Danizio, Sean Lafferty, Devin O’ Connor, Dennis Gouveia, Dylan Galex, James Breeden, Zachery Roderick, Liam Nassar, Chase Flaherty, Paul Luciano, Sean Venzia, Garry Silva and the starting quarterback Patrick Malloy. The boys made a few good plays but no pints on the board.
It was time for the defense to get out there and hold Winchester to no points. Which consistec of Aidan O’ Connor, Jayden Connors, Jackson Young, Leyland Stack, Dennis Gouveia, Benjamin Dubrovskiy, Jayden Whitmer, William Connors and Michael Connors. Liam Nassar made a big stop and sacked the quarterback taking him back 5 yards and on the next play it was a double sack with Paul Luciano and Bobby Lafferty taking the quarterback down once again.
There was a lot of big plays and sacks made throughout the game by Symon Sathler , Liam Nassar , Paul Luciano causing Winchester to fumble. The offense got back out there and Patrick Malloy making an amazing 23 yard run and then Bobby Lafferty running 10 yards to score the first touchdown for the E2 Trojans.
The great defense making plays which included Liam Nassar causing Winchester to fumble as well getting the ball back for Woburn and Symon Sathler running in the ball into the endzone for 55 yards and Zachery Roderick running in the endzone for the extra points.
Woburn was up 13-6 and it turned into a nail biter when Winchester got down to the 15 yard line to try to tie it up with 30 seconds left but they threw an interception right into the hands of Liam Nassar who ran it back for 85 yards to seal the deal with a 19-6 victory for the “ WhooWee E2 Trojans.”
