Second-Year Woburn Volleyball Pounces to 2-0 Start

The Lady Tanners dropped the first two sets on Wednesday, but still managed to topple Wilmington.

Trailing two sets to none is a daunting predicament to be in for any volleyball team, let alone a second-year varsity program. But for the Woburn High School girls volleyball team, it was no issue at all.

On Wednesday, Wilmington cruised to a 2-0 edge in its match in Woburn and appeared to be heading to its first win of the season. But the Lady Tanners snapped out of their brief funk and came storming back to earn an impressive 3-2 win.

The team, led by head coach Scott Roy, is in just its second year of existence as a varsity program. Wednesday's win helped the team improve to 2-0 on the year after Roy's charges beat Wakefield to open the campaign.
