Softball Tourney Raises Money for Maguire Scholarship
Organizers are seeking sponsors for the annual event.
Organizers of the fourth annual Jack Maguire Softball Tournament are seeking sponsors.
Sponsorship costs $100 and all the proceeds will go to the Officer Maguire Memorial Scholarship Fund. Any sponsor who donates $100 will have its business name printed on the back of a tournament T-shirt.
The tournament that will include the Greater Boston Police Softball League is planned for Saturday, June 7 at Library Field in Woburn. The games will begin at 9 a.m.
Maguire was killed in the line of duty on Dec. 26, 2010. Last year's event raised $5,000.
Those interested in sponsoring the event should make checks payable to Medford Police Softball and mail them no later than May 15 to:
