Woburn B Team Defeats South End Titans

The Sgt. Connolly team scores often in win.

In this past week the Sgt. Paul Connolly Trojan Woburn B Team defeated the South End Titans.  The South End started of with the ball and stroke 1st with a 70-yard run Touch down within seconds of the game.  The P.A.T was no good.

Woburn then takes the ball with the offense line up of Nick Romeo, Matthew Pollard, Jake Bridge, Ryan Getherall, Luis Germano, Jesus Pizarro, Marlon McCoy, Tyler Hayden, Clifford Louis and Tommy Nye.  Colin Butcher was able to bring the ball down the field for a 10-yard run for the 1st down with help from impressive blocking by Luther Thiogene and Nelson Claude.  Kyle Chorlton plowed over the South End for 9-yards for another 1st down.  Colin Buther then took the ball for a 15-yard Touch down. Kyle Chorlton punted for the P.A.T and it was good for another 2points making the score 8-6.

Woburn stopped the South End for no return with a nice tackle by Andrew Nicholas.  The South End punted on the 4th down for Kyle Chorlton to take over on the 38-yard line.  Luke Scaramozzino handed the ball to Kyle Chorlton for the 1st down.  Colin Butcher, ball in hand, ripped down the field for a 22-yard run to the 2-yard line.  Touch down was made by Kyle Chorlton. Kyle Chorlton then punted for the P.A.T and it was good for the extra 2points.  Making the score 16-6.

The South End ran with a 30-yard return with Tommy Nye making a crashing tackle.  The South End struggled to gain yards yet were no match for Andrew Nicholas, Andre Eller and Matthew Pollard.  Woburn punted on the 4th down. The game was then put on hold due to an injury for one of the South End   players while waiting for the ambulance.  The game resumed with South End having control of the ball obtaining a 1st down.  They were no match for Woburn’s defense of Jacob Walthall, John Golles, Dustin Burkle, David Lennon, Ahmed Hmina, Joseph Silverhus, Mateus Nunes, Joseph O’Brien and Ryan Chillemi.  Woburn had the ball and got a first down with more superb blocking by David Lennon and Ryan Getherall.  Kyle Chorlton carried the ball with a huge 20-yard run for the 2nd down.  Luke Scaramazzino then passed the ball off to Kyle Chorlton to run and swerve from South End’s defense for an 18-yard run for the Touch down.  Kyle Chorlton punted for the P.A.T. for the extra 2points and it was good which made the score 24-6.

South End had the ball, yet due to superb tackling at the 15-yard line, they fumbled.  Charles O’Connor recovered the ball as he dove on the ball like he owned it.  Woburn then fumbled at the snap on the 5-yard line for the South End to take over just as the half ended.

During half time, some great cheerleading was going on by Claire Walthall, Cheyanne Lennon and Cassidy Daniell to get the crowd rearing to go!

South End started the 2nd half with a kick to the 35-yard line with a return to the 40-yard line.  South End’s defense was no match for Woburn’s offense as Jake Bridge made the 1st Touch down for the 2nd half.  Kyle Chorlton punted for the P.A.T. and again it was good making the score 32-6.

South End was at the 35-yard line made an incomplete pass on the 28-yard line.  The tackles just kept coming with great help by Scotty Peary, Tyler Hayden and John Golles.  South End fumbled the ball and was recovered on the 50-yard line by Nelson Claude with help from Ryan Daniell on the fumble.  Woburn punted on the 4th down, the snap went high and Kyle Chorlton, clutching the ball, ran for an impressive 50-yard Touch down run.  Woburn had to take a knee for the P.A.T. so they wouldn’t go over the 32points due to regulations.  South End didn’t have a chance as time ran out and the game ended with another win for Woburn with a score of 38-6.  Great job to all!
