Woburn Girls Hoops Advances to Semifinal With Overtime Win

Chelmsford gave Woburn all it could handle, but eventually the Lady Tanners had just enough to snag an overtime win on Sunday night.

Fifth-seeded Chelmsford came to town and, despite falling behind by double digits early, sent the game to an extra session. But No. 4 Woburn was not rattled, snagging a 58-56 win in the North Division 1 quarterfinal round.

The victory propels the locals into the semifinal, where they will take on Lynn English in a game scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. in Danvers.

Whichever of those two teams moves on will head to play at the Tsongas Center in Lowell. The winner of the North Division 1 tournament will advance to the state semifinal.
