Build a School on Woburn's Own Spence Farm???

As you may be aware due to extensive citizen participation and civic activity the people of Woburn enabled the city to purchase one of the Spence Farm parcels as a protection against flooding and for open space about four years ago.

Since then it has become an integral part of the city and an exemplary center for community activity hosting hundreds of community events.  The city is now considering going back on its promise and may build the new Wyman / Hurld School there.

On Monday the first open public meeting was held to discuss possible site locations for the new school.  The Wyman Neighborhood Group is, of course, opposed to using the farm as the site.  At that meeting we submitted and read aloud a statement along with all the documentation mentioned in that statement.  Please click here to view the statement and hear the reasons why this site should never have been included on this study.
