Candidates Please Let Us Know Your Positions

   With all the recent talk about debates it seems appropriate for us to ask all our elected officials and each candidate for any office where they stand on issues that are of concern to us – The Wyman Neighborhood Group.  To that end we encourage all our Facebook fans and others who have expressed interest in our group to do so as well.  Over the coming weeks we will bring our concerns to the attention of those seeking office (and the general public as well) and ask them let us know their position on each. 

  We continue to hear that some current officials and candidates are in favor of building the new Wyman School on the former Spence Farm property now owned by the city.  Please remember that many people actively participated in civic meeting for months to come up with a funding mechanism and to encourage city officials to purchase this land.  That was the wish of the community and the PROMISE of the council with that vote.

   This property has since become an integral part of the city and an exemplary center for community activity.  So we respectfully ask each candidate for office to let us know their position on this issue and also if they would support a zoning change to make it officially open space and always available for farming and community activities.
