Community Garden Project Starts Thursday

Join your neighbors in creating a garden.

It's National Volunteer Week and to celebrate, the city of Woburn is teaming up to create a community garden at the YMCA on Lexington Street.

Join and the as well as many volunteers from the city, to create the garden. Volunteers hope the project will put an emphasis on healthy eating in the city.

The official kick-off event for the community garden project is Thursday, April 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. During that time, volunteers will fill raised beds with compost, plant seeds and plants, water the garden, make a sign for the garden and learn about nature and plants.
