City Council, Ugly Sweaters and Winter Sports This Week in Woburn

Now that the weekend is over, get ready for the week with our Monday Essentials. Here are some events planned this week:

City Council: The Woburn City Council holds its regular meeting on Tuesday, though the meeting will start slightly earlier than usual. The session is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside City Council Chambers.

Ugly Sweaters: Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub on Rainin Road in Woburn is hosting an ugly sweater Christmas party and canned food drive. The event is slated for Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and includes live music from Element 78. Residents who bring in a canned food item will receive a complimentary appetizer.

Winter Sports: The winter sports season gets underway this week, though it's a light schedule. Woburn's boys and girls track and field teams have a 5 p.m. meet on Tuesday and another on Wednesday, while the wrestling team grapples at home on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
