Annual Homecoming Dance Was A Hit

The Homecoming dance is always one of the best of the year. The best part about Homecoming is that you get to see all your friends no matter what grade they are in. If you are a senior who is friends with a sophomore, it’s possible to go to at least one dance together. The atmosphere is always very friendly at the dance too. Junior Sarah Norton attended the Homecoming dance for the first time this year.

“This was the first homecoming I’ve gone to and it was fun to have all the grades together,” said Norton.

Although it is held in the school’s front foyer, the décor was awesome. The decorating committee fully captured the essence of Woburn without going overboard. The black and orange theme was done so well and was full of school spirit. The DJ was nice and gave out door prizes to some of the students.

They included songs from all different genres of music, like Gangnam Style by PSY. The music was diverse, but they played a lot of songs you couldn’t dance to. Most of the music however you could at least jump around to if nothing else.

Once again, they ran out of water so they should probably buy some more next time.  It tends to get really hot in that crowded place with tons of people breathing heavily and sweating everywhere. Some students think that they should hand out food at the dances to keep everybody’s energy up.

Even after dancing for hours without food, senior Hikaru Kiyomizu thought that not including food is for the best.

“I found it wise of them to serve only drinks and not food. Guys would have migrated to the food and made the girls mad,” said Kiyomizu.

Overall, there wasn’t too much dirty dancing and it made the aura of the dance cleaner. A wide variety of people were dancing together and that’s always good to see. Of course, it’s a school dance which means all school rules apply.

Sophomore Nicole Tschour was dancing with all her friends at homecoming and really enjoyed the night.

“I love the dance. It’s always a blast to be with your friends and party,” said Tschour.

Everyone looks forward to the Homecoming dance every November and gets psyched to dance with their friends. During the week before the dance, you can hear all the chatter about dresses and who is going with whom in the hallways. It doesn’t matter if you go with anyone though because being with your friends is the best part. The energy is awesome and next year’s is sure to be just as amazing.
