Woburn Patriot Team Wins Over Billerica

This past week the Woburn Patriots, sponsored by Salem Five Insurance, defeated Billerica 7 – 6.

This game by far was a very intense nail biter from start to finish for all who watched and I’m sure who played as well.

In the 1st half Billerica kicked off for Tommy Nye to return the ball to the 45yrd line.  Ryan Getherall carried the ball another 5yards. Unfortunately just when we thought Woburn’s offense of Henry Johnson, Jacob Casey, Luther Thiogene, Mateus Nunes, Elijah Kennedy-Williams, Joe Siverhus and Luke Scaramozzino were about to do some greatness, the ball was foiled, I mean fumbled, and Billerica had control of the ball. Ryan Getherall made a tackle at the 25yrd line that made you feel as if you were being knocked to the ground. Again at the 25yrd line Darren Sanderson, David Unobskey, and Angel Semidey with superb teamwork, stopped Billerica from moving anywhere. With no more plays left for Billerica, Woburn took over possession of the ball. With that being said, Woburn’s offense couldn’t do much either and ran out of plays. Eri Ibrahimi kicked to the 43yrd line. Jimmy Lane and Jacob Casey made a great tag team pair as they tackled on the 37yrd line. Luther Thiogene made another clanking tackle at the 30yrd line.  Billerica passed as Allan Martin plowed over a body at the 20yrd line. It looked like a bunch of gymnastic moves going on at once, yet we knew better. It was like do or die out there. It kind of was. Billerica made another pass just shy of a TD. Woburn’s defense was definitely put on guard, how long was the question. Billerica swooped in past the grips of the hands of Woburn and got a TD. The P.A.T was no good. Putting Billerica in the lead by 6. Woburn 0 – Billerica 6.

Billerica kicked off for Tommy Nye to return to the 50yrd line. Woburn’s offense of Louis Clifford, Alec Rollins, Joel Cora, Francis Beckford Jr., Nelson Claude, Michael Christopher and Nic Pascuccio did their best to try to make something happen yet couldn’t.  It didn’t help that the Referee’s kept throwing flags and making bogus calls against Woburn. Billerica had the ball and made a pass as Michael Christopher intercepted the ball at the 30yrd line as if he was catching a falling baby from the sky.  Perfection. Nelson Claude then ran the ball to the 19yrd line as if he was being chased by a pack of wolves, and literally as Billerica was attacking as if he were their prey. Nelson ran 9 more yards to the 10yrd line. Just shy of a TD with seconds left in the half and Woburn went for it and didn’t make it.

In the 2nd half Woburn kicked off to the 27yrd line for a Billerica return. Nic Pascuccio made body-smashing tackle at the 29yrd line. Jimmy Lane made another great tackle right after. Woburn gains control of the ball as Nelson Claude ran frantically from Billerica, like the Japanese running from Godzilla. Ryan Getherall took the ball to the 32yrd line. No plays left, Billerica gained control of the ball. They passed and Ryan Getherall intercepted. Nelson Claude ran the ball to the 10yrd line not even Kryptonite could stop him. Ryan Getherall ran the ball another 6yrds. Luke Scaramozzino passed the ball to Ryan Getherall for a TD. Woburn attempted a kick but the snap went awry not to fool Jimmy Lane, though, who bobbled it saw he was about to be tackled and tossed it over  to Ryan Getherall for the P.A.T. That was such an awesome playing that you couldn’t even do in the NFL if you tried. Woburn took the lead. Woburn 7 – Billerica 6.

Woburn kicked off to the 41yrd line for Billerica to return. Allan Martin made a great tackle at the 44yrd line. Nic Pascuccio made a great ankle holding tackle at the 38yrd line.  Alec Rollins went in for a tackle as Nic Pascuccio and Eri Ibrahimi swooped in to help. Bodies were flying in the air like kernels of hard corn getting ready to pop. Billerica ran out of plays and Woburn gained control of the ball. Eri Ibrahimi blocked a pass from Billerica. Eri then intercepted another pass attempted by Billerica with 2 minutes left in the game. Nelson Claude ran the ball to the 31yrd line. Nelson ran again to the 46yrd line with 30 seconds left and the clock ran out for Woburn to win the game.

Woburn 7 – Billerica 6.
