Woburn Patriot Teams Earns Another Big Win At Home Against Wakefield

This past week the Woburn Patriots, sponsored by The Salem Five Insurance Company defeated Wakefield 20 – 6.

Woburn started the kick off for Wakefield to return the ball to the 49yrd line. Woburn’s Henry Johnson made a shoulder banging tackle. Woburn’s Defense of Julian Jolicoeur, Joe Siverhus, Joel Cora, Jacob Casey, Allan Martin, Angel Semidey and Luther Thiogene seemed ready for a fight and a fight it was. Wakefield ran the ball as Eri Ibrahimi and Clifford Louis were like the “Wonder Twins” and activated into a wall of steel and knocked the ball carrier down to the ground! Out of nowhere Wakefield seemed to gain control and strength and unfortunately Woburn’s defense couldn’t keep up and Wakefield got a TD. Woburn blocked the kick making the score Woburn 0 – Wakefield 6.

Wakefield started the kick off for Woburn to return to the 48yrd line. Woburn’s offensive line of John Golles, Tommy Nye, Ryan Getherall, Mateus Nunes, Nelson Claude, Luke Scaramozzino, Alec Rollins, Francis Beckford Jr., Elijah Kennedy-Williams and Darren Sanderson tried to make something happen but just couldn’t. Eli Ibrahimi punted the ball on the last play to the 27yrd line, Wakefield caught the ball and as they caught the ball Woburn’s Tommy Nye dropped that catcher as if he was the house that fell on the wicked witch in the “Wizard of Oz”.  Awesome Play!! Darren Sanderson made an arm hugging tackle on the 27yrd line. Wakefield attempted to make a pass as Ryan Getherall tipped the ball away just in time. Wakefield punted and Ryan Getherall caught the ball at the 46yrd line. Luke Scaramozzino passed off to Nelson Claude as he ran it to the 38yrd line. Luke then made a reverse pass to Ryan Getherall who ran the ball like a jet ready for take off, straight for a TD. The kick was no good, tying the game Woburn 6 – Wakefield 6.

Woburn kicked off for the ball to go out of bounds. Julian Jolicoeur made a smashing tackle at the 49yrd line. Wakefield couldn’t move as Julian Jolicoeur made yet another tackle, even the crowd cringed in pain. Wakefield made it to the 38yrd line until Ryan Getherall made a squeezing tackle as if he was in a Charmin commercial testing out the merchandise. Eli Ibrahimi knocked down the carrier like a bolt of lighting at the 27yrd line with help from Nic Pascuccio, Matthew Walusimbi, David Unobskey and Michael Christopher. Wakefield passed the ball as Ryan Getherall intercepted and ran it back to the 47yrd line. Flag was called on the play with a 15yrd penalty called on Woburn. Eli Ibrahimi punted the ball all the way from the 35yrd line to the 19yrd line. A cluster of Woburn’s defense consisting of Mateus Nunes, Luther Thiogene, John Golles, David Unobskey, Nic Pascuccio and Michael Christopher just kept stopping Wakefield until the half ended with a tied score. Woburn 6 – Wakefield 6.

In the 2nd half Wakefield kicked the ball for Woburn to return to the 47yrd line. Luke Scaramozzino passed to Ryan Getherall who bear crawled his way through a crowd of massive line of Wakefield defense and made it to the 41yrd line. Nelson Claude made the 1st down at the 35yrd line. There was supreme blocking by John Golles, Alec Rollins, Louis Clifford, Joel Cora and Allan Martin. A master - mind pass made to Tommy Nye who ran the ball like Flash Gordan to the 3yrd line, just shy of a TD. Eri Ibrahimi went in for the kill and got the TD. The P.A.T by Nelson Claude was good.  The score was Woburn 13 – Wakefield 6.

Woburn kicked off for Wakefield to return, as a stampede of Woburn’s defense of Nic Pascuccio, Jacob Casey, David Unobskey, Mateus Nunes, Joe Siverhus and Angel Semidey knocked Wakefield’s offense down like a line-up of bowling pins on the 44yrd line. Woburn’s defense just kept stopping Wakefield until they had gained control of the ball on the 14yrd line. Nelson Claude ran a massive 20yrds. Ryan Getherall then claimed the ball and ran down the middle for the TD. The P.A.T was good making the score Woburn 20 – Wakefield 6.

There wasn’t much time left in the half, Wakefield’s offense just couldn’t do much against Woburn’s defense. The game ended with the Woburn Patriots winning another game. Great Job! Woburn 20- Wakefield 6.
