Woburn Pop Warner E1 Football Team had a Ruff outing on 9/15/13

Woburn Pop Warner E1 Mite Mites Football

On another gorgeous football day our E1 Mite Mites took the field on Sunday September 15th against Wakefield.  Our captains for the day were Justin Nicolas (#2), Tyler Gillardon (#23), Jordon Branson (#7), Mohd Ossaid (#65), and Joseph Silva (#81).  The mite –mite’s defense was lead by Jordon Branson (#7), Cedric Edwards (#9), Xavier Etienne (#21), Juan Vanegas (#30), Zach Steiner (#31), Hayden Laprede (#33), Devin Vieria (#41), Hannah Nowell (#53), Mitchell Riccardi (#57), Mohd Ossaid (#65), and Brian Oliveira (#73).  In the 1st half the defense had a hug stoppage.  It was 3rd and goal; our defense stopped Wakefield from scoring to end the 1st half.  At halftime our Mite Mite’s were down 7-0.

In the 2nd half our offense led by Jordon Branson (#7), Hayden Laprede (#33), Xavier Etienne (#21), Devin Vieria (#41) and the offensive line made some explosive yardage gains.  One of those explosive plays was by Xavier Etienne (#21) who scored a mite mite’s touchdown on a 69 yard run.   The offensive stepped up to the plate with some great blocks to allow our running backs and quarterbacks to move the ball down the field.  Hayden Laprede (#33) had a huge block to allow Xavier Etienne (#21) to make a 22 yard run. Once again our defense led by Hayden Laprede (#33), Mohd Ossaid (#65), Brian Oliveira (#73) and Joseph Silva (#81) came up big stopping Wakefield’s extra point attempt.  At the end of the game our E1 Mite Mite’s fell short this week; final score was 13-6.  We are looking forward to rebounding next week against Lexington.   Let’s give a big Woburn Trojan cheer to our sponsor Dole & Bailey.  Also, thank you parents for your support.  See you Sunday 9/22/13 @ 8am, this week we are at Lexington.  Good Luck E1 Mite Mite’s football team.
