Former Woburn Hockey Player Headed To College
A Tanner becomes a Warrior.
Former Woburn Memorial High School hockey star Alex Holland is coming home—sort of. The 20-year-old Woburn man is reportedly joining the Merrimack Warriors hockey team in 2013, according to the ESPN HS blog. Holland spent the last year in Canada, playing for the Victoria Grizzlies of the British Columbia Hockey League. During the 2011-12 season, Holland scored 17 goals and 17 assists for 34 points. In Woburn, Holland played alongside his younger brother Danny on the Woburn Memorial High School Tanners hockey squad. In addition to Super 8 playoff games, Holland also participated in the Nike Bauer Invitational in Minnesota. Holland is expected to join Merrimack College in North Andover for the 2013-2014 season.
