Woburn Man Named USA Hockey Intern

Will begin communications job in June.

  A Woburn man will work with USA Hockey in June, according to the national hockey organization. USA Hockey announced that Brian Smith of Woburn is the recipient of the 2012-2013 Brian Fishman Internship. Smith will work in the communications department at USA Hockey's national office in Colorado Springs, Colo., beginning in June. According to USA Hockey, the Fishman Internship is awarded to a college graduate pursuing a career in athletic communications. Smith will graduate from Boston College later this month. Brian Fishman was the manager of communications and marketing for USA Hockey's National Team Development Program. He died unexpectedly on Jan. 7, 1999, at age 28.
