Woburn Charities Get Boost From Beacon Grille

Cummings Properties' restaurant donates proceeds to 60 charities.

  The following text was provided by Beacon Grille/Cummings Properties: We are delighted to share the complete and very diverse list of 60 local charities that recently received major funding from Cummings Foundation, the beneficiary of 100 percent of Beacon Grille's net profits. Through its first cycle as a grant-making organization, the Foundation awarded a total of $6 million this summer, primarily to not-for-profits based in eastern Middlesex County and the Beverly area. Several charities in Suffolk County also received grants. With a goal of supporting the communities in which the Cummings organization, including Beacon Grille, operates and where most of its employees live, the Foundation was pleased to make grants of $100,000 each to…

International Biotech Firm Opens Woburn Lab

Facility opens up job opportunities in city and across the state.

  An international biotech firm will have a new home in Woburn at the Cummings Properties' Tradecenter 128. Batavia Bioservices of Leiden in the Netherlands focuses on various biotech items from DNA cloning to Phase I/II clinical manufacturing for biopharmaceuticals, including antibodies, proteins or vaccines.  The Woburn facility contains multiple BSL-2 laboratories dedicated to specific tasks including Molecular Biology, mammalian cell line generation, protein production, protein purification or assay development, said Angus McQuilken of Mass Life Sciences. Cummings Properties Completing 'Estate Management' Along Washington Street

Waterfall includes unique symbol.

As you drive on Washington Street roughly between Salem Street and Olympia Avenue, have you noticed the islands of new hardscaping and plantings between the street and the family of properties to its east and west? New decorative walls are being built and a waterfall has been installed on the west side of Washington Street with a very particular water feature.  Pink and white petunias are blooming, along with splashes of yellow flowers. Cummings Properties has undertaken what the company calls “estate management,” Greg Ahearn, the company’s general field superintendent, told Woburn Patch Monday.
