Dog Days of Summer event is this Sunday.
As summer nears its end, the city's Farmer's Market is planning a last "Dog Days of Summer" event featuring... shelter dogs, hot dogs (of the eating variety) and a dog park. Although dogs are welcome at the Farmer's Market any time of the year, the Woburn Agricultural Commission is encouraging shoppers to bring their pups and learn about animal shelters this weekend. "We are thrilled to have Northeast Animal Shelter at the Farmer’s Market, as many folks from Woburn and surrounding communities have adopted their pets from this wonderful organization," said Agricultural Commission member Paul Medeiros. The wafting smell of newly plucked fruits and vegetables, the buzz of neighbors chatting in the fresh summertime air, a gathering of social and eatable proportions. It's that time of year again, and this year, Woburn will be in the mix. The Woburn Farmer's Market will open for the first time at Spence Farm (41 Wyman St.) Sunday, June 5 and every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., through October 23. “If vendors want to stay past October, we will, it all depends on weather,” clarified Woburn Agricultural Committee Chairman and coordinator of the market, Paul Medeiros. William We have met with several markets and many vendors and they all seem to point to the earlier weekend hours as the best for weekend markets for both vendors and families.
