Woburn Beats Winchester in Thanksgiving Football Game
108th meeting between the rivals goes to Woburn.
For the 108th time in history, the Woburn Memorial High School Tanners took on the Winchester Sachems on Thanksgiving Day. The traditional football game belonged to Woburn, as the Tanners won 32-14. The Sachems dominated the first quarter, scoring twice for a 14-0 lead. But the second belonged to Woburn. The Tanners scored 20 points in the second quarter, ending the half at 20-14. Woburn won the ball to start the second and continued to dominate. WMHS player Pat Doherty grabbed a five-yard touchdown in the third, bringing the score to 26-14 (the two-point conversion failed).
