Waxy O'Connors is holding a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 31.
As reported on Woburn Patch, Waxy O'Connors has opened it's doors at 1 Rainin Road and now they are inviting the public to a grand opening party. According to a release, the Waxy O’Connor’s Ribbon Cutting ceremony and Grand Opening will be at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31. A host of people are expected to be in attendance, including Mayor Scott Galvin, Chairman of Woburn’s Licensing Committee Paul Medeiros and other town officials, Waxy O’Connor’s owners and managers from Woburn, Lexington, Foxboro and Keene, NH, as well several special guests. After a long process Waxy's has opened in the old Spuds location.
The saga of Waxy O'Connor's has finally ended and the location is now open for business. The traditional Irish pub had been making promises to the city about opening since November of 2012 and last week it finally opened its doors at the old Spuds restaurant location. As reported on Woburn Patch, the city's Licensing Commission issued an ultimatum last November—open by January or you lose your liquor license. Fortunately that was avoided and the pub was allowed to open. According to the restaurant's web site, Waxy's offers a wide variety of drinks and pub staples such as appetizers, sandwiches and burgers. There are also full dinners, soups and salads. The Brickyard is Woburn's newest downtown bar and grill.
Downtown Woburn is getting a new pub. It's the Brickyard, a bar and grill combo that is hoping to delight Woburn residents and beyond with its burgers featuring prime grade ground beef served on brioche, authentic thin crust Italian style pizza, salads, appetizers and small plates as well as over twenty beer selections.
