Twitter reports indicate a male was struck by a vehicle and has suffered a leg injury.
Emergency personnel are responding to a call of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle at Leland Park. According to Mass Incident Paging on Twitter, a 34-year-old male was struck a little after 8 p.m. this evening. According to the posts the male was struck on Washington Street in front of the park. Man suffered injuries after being struck by a car on Beach Street.
A 40-year-old Salem Street man is at Lahey Clinic this morning after being struck by a car Sunday night. The man is in critical condition Monday, according to a Lahey Clinic spokesperson. A 25-year-old Woburn woman told police she was driving on Salem Street toward Beach when she struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk. Police said the woman told officers “she did not see him crossing the street at any time.” According to police, officers examined the driver for signs of impairment and found none. Woburn Police verified a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle on Beach Street.
There are scanner and Twitter alerts indicated a pedestrian has been struck by a motor vehicle on Beach Street. According to reports a pedestrian was struck at 84 Beach Street around 6:30 p.m. this evening. Woburn Rescue has requested Lahey Clinic to be put on a trauma alert, indicating the victim may have serious injuries. A member of the Woburn Police Department verified emergency teams are responding to the incident but would not comment on any specifics at this time. Reports also state the road is currently blocked so expect delays if traveling in the area.
