POLICE LOG: Tomatoes Stolen From Yard

We report all arrests included in the daily police log. Incidents: July 5 – At 12:48 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Mishawum Road. According to police, one driver rear-ended another. The driver told police that he looked down momentarily and did not realize the car in front of him had stopped. There were no reported injuries. At 5:01 p.m., a Warren Avenue resident reported that a four-foot tomato plant was stolen from his back yard between July 3 and 5. Police Log: Stolen Laptop Leaves Log-in Trail

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. Sept. 22 At 7:55 a.m., a Lexington Street resident reported that the company vehicle he drives was damaged overnight while it was parked in his driveway. The driver’s side passenger window of the passenger van was smashed, “likely (by) a BB or pellet-type projectile.” No other reports of similar vandalism were reported, according to the police report. The van is used to transport special needs clients. At 9:08 a.m., police responded to a report of a domestic incident at a Main Street address, where a woman and her son were arguing about…

Police Log: Errant Poker Player Walks Into Wrong Home

Homeowner came downstairs and confronted a confused young man.

We report all arrests included in the daily police log. August 22 At 8:39 p.m., a Blueberry Hill Road resident found a 21-year-old man in his home. The man, from Medford, was on his way to a friend’s home for a poker game, according to the report, and was “somewhat lost,” having been to his friend’s house once or twice. His friend had reportedly told him that his front door was open and to “come right in.” As the Medford man walked downstairs in the house he entered, the homeowner reportedly met him and started to yell at him because the homeowner thought the youth was trying to rob or …

From a manhole incident to a group of celebrities donating items for the Officer John "Jack" Maguire Scholarship Fund, these five stories and Police Log entries had people talking on our Facebook page and readers clicking links this week. Monday, May 16—At 3:19 a.m., Woburn Police and Fire responded to a report of a 20-year-old with a “bloody lip.” The man was taken to Lahey Clinic and was operated on for his injuries, which police believe was caused by an accidental shooting. A 9-millimeter pistol and shell casing were recovered at the scene. According to police, the man was in “serious but stable” condition at Lahey this morning. May 17 – At 8:28 p.m., a Woburn woman was cited for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after a car accident on Unicorn Park Drive.  May 18 – At 9:12 a.m., Joao Junior, 38, of 64 Hollis St. Apt. #1 of Framingham, was arrested and charged with an outstanding warrant. Junior was taken into custody after his vehicle was stopped during routine traffic patrol on Lexington Street. According to police, Junior was operating a car with no inspection sticker. While we normally use this space to look at the top five articles or the top five newsmakers in Woburn, Woburn Patch had so many interesting Police Log entries this week, we decided to highlight the top five in our Week in Review. Sunday, March 6—At 5:48 p.m., Douglas L. Clarke, 28, homeless, was arrested and charged with shoplifting $100+ by asportation, as well as two warrants. According to police, dispatch received a report of a shoplifter at Walgreens. When police arrived, they found Clarke had hidden a comb, an energy drink, two packages of Cesar cat food, an accessory strap and a Dust-Off can of air in his clothing.
