The driver told police that he looked down momentarily and did not realize the car in front of him had stopped. There were no reported injuries. At 5:01 p.m., a Warren Avenue resident reported that a four-foot tomato plant was stolen from his back yard between July 3 and 5. Sept. 22 At 7:55 a.m., a Lexington Street resident reported that the company vehicle he drives was damaged overnight while it was parked in his driveway. The driver’s side passenger window of the passenger van was smashed, “likely (by) a BB or pellet-type projectile.” No other reports of similar vandalism were reported, according to the police report. The man, from Medford, was on his way to a friend’s home for a poker game, according to the report, and was “somewhat lost,” having been to his friend’s house once or twice. Sunday, March 6—At 5:48 p.m., Douglas L. Clarke, 28, homeless, was arrested and charged with shoplifting $100+ by asportation, as well as two warrants. According to police, dispatch received a report of a shoplifter at Walgreens.
