Heartbreaking Loss for the D1 Team

Pop Warner season comes to a close on Sunday.

  The following text was provided by Woburn Pop Warner: A heartbreaking loss and an end to a great season for the Woburn Loyal Order of Moose D1 team who fell short to the Reading D2 team, 26-18, on Sunday at Reading High School. Both teams were competing for a spot in the playoffs. Woburn qualified to play the undefeated Reading team with a second place finish in last week’s 10-yard dogfight that included Waltham and Wakefield. The Trojan defense started the day off strong after key tackles by Peter Cole, John Zakrewski, Jonathan Avery, and James Taft put their offense on the field after only four plays. Rain Dampens E2's Final Game of Season

Pop Warner team ends season with a loss.

  The following text was provided by Woburn Pop Warner: It was a Hurricane super soaker for the Woburn Irish American E2 Trojans who took on the East Lynn Bulldogs. The captains of the game were Symon Sathler, Steven (Biggs) Danizio, Patrick Malloy and Liam Nasr. The boys were ready to play and so the offense took to the field consisting of Ryan Fisher, Gary Silva, Sean Venzia, Paul Lussiano, Liam Nasr, Zachary Roderick, James Breeden, Dylan Galex, Dennis Gouveia, Devin O'Connor, Sean Lafferty, Steven (Biggs) Danizio, Symon Sathler, Bobby Lafferty and the quarterback Patrick Malloy. The boys made some good runs by Patrick Malloy, Bobby Lafferty, Liam Nasr, Symon Sathler but it was a hard fought game in the rain and couldn't gain any points…

Pop Warner Team Honors Allen Fisher

Team wears green socks and "AF" decals in honor of team dad, Allen Fisher, who died last week after being struck by a car.

  The following text was provided by Woburn Pop Warner: The Woburn Irish American Woburn E2 Trojans who took on Wakefield Sunday played with heavy hearts wearing their green socks and AF decals on their helmets in memory of one their fellow teammates' father, Allen Fisher, who died last week after being struck by a car following a Pop Warner practice. The captains of the game were Ryan Fisher, Symon Sathler, Steven (Biggs) Danizio, Patrick Malloy and Liam Nasr. D1 Team Shuts Out Wakefield

Even with turnovers, Pop Warner team is triumphant.

  The following text was submitted by Woburn Pop Warner: Despite turning the ball over four times, the Woburn Loyal Order of Moose D1 team shut out the Wakefield Warriors, 13-0, on Sunday at Wakefield’s Langrigan Field. The win earned the Trojans a chance to compete for a spot in the playoffs. The Trojan defense started the day off strong, forcing Wakefield to turn the ball over after only four plays. Unfortunately, they were right back on the field after Woburn fumbled the ball. The Warriors proceeded to move the ball down the field to the 4-yard line. Pop Warner B Team Steamrolls Wakefield

Team wins easily during Week 7 of the season.

  The following was submitted by Woburn Pop Warner: In this past week the Sgt. Paul Connolly Trojan Woburn B Team defeated Wakefield.  Woburn started with the kick off for a Wakefield return.  Woburn’s defense of Ahmed Hmina, Joseph Silverhus, Scott Peary, Matthew Pollard, Tyler Hayden, Luther Thiogene and Ryan Daniell did a tremendous job from holding Wakefield at bay from getting anywhere near the end zone.  Andrew Nicholas made a great tackle stopping Wakefield on the 38-yard line.  On the 4th down Jesus Pizarro made a great tackle for Woburn to take over on the 40-yard line.  Woburn’s offense of Tommy Nye, Luis Germano, Ryan Getherall, Joseph O’Brien, Marlon McCoy, Dustin Burkle, Mateus Nunes, David Lennon, John Golles, Nic Pascuccio …

E1 Trojans Lose to Wakefield

Pop Warner team battles back, but drops game.

  The following was submitted by Woburn Pop Warner: Woburn E-1 Trojans sponsored by the Woburn Loyal Order of Moose lost to Wakefield Sunday 13 – 7. Woburn kicked off to start the game the kick was miscued and they got the ball on our 40 yard line. Our first defensive set went like this. 1st. down they tried run up the middle and were met at the line by #55 Tyler Farren and #44 Jack Mac Donald. The 2nd Play was run to the middle left for a 6 yard gain. They got a first down on the next play a 5 yard run to the left. the next play was a long run to our 18 yard line. D1 Team Chalks Up Another Win, Defeats Reading

D1s score 22 points in game.

  The following was provided by Woburn Pop Warner: The Woburn Loyal Order of Moose D1 team chalked up another victory Sunday with a win against the Reading Rockets, 22-6. The game took place at Woburn Memorial High School. Woburn’s defense started the game off strong, forcing Reading to punt after only three plays. The Trojan offense started on their own 35-yard line, but, three plays later, Ryan Ludwig carried the ball 58 yards to the endzone. E2 Trojans Wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Team drops game to Reading Rockets.

  The following text was provided by Woburn Pop Warner: It was soaker today for the Woburn Irish American E2 Team who took on Reading at home. The boys were all wearing heir pink proudly in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. The captains of the game were Patrick Malloy, Symon Sathler, Bobby Lafferty and Liam Nasr. The game started things off with the offense which consisted of Sean Lafferty, Devin O'Connor, Steven (Biggs) Danizio, Ryan Fisher, Gary Silva,Sean Venzia, Paul Lussiano, Liam Nasr, Zachary Roderick, James Breeden, Dylan Haled, Dennis Gouveia, Symon Sathler, Bobby Lafferty and quarterback Patrick Malloy. E1 Trojans Battle Reading Rockets, Rain

Reading defeats E1 Trojans in Week 6 of Pop Warner.

  The following text was provided by Woburn Pop Warner: The Loyal Order of Moose E1 Trojans played host to the Reading Rockets this week at Woburn Memorial High School. The two teams had more than just each other to contend with. Mother Nature came to play, too. Bringing with her cold, hard rain on this Sunday morning. No player, coach, referee, Chain Gang member or fan would leave WMHS dry this day. Coach Mike Morgan’s boys opened up on their own 35 yard line. Running back Nick Puleo strung together two 13 yard runs, both outside to the right. Pop Warner B Team Shut Out on Sunday

  The following text was provided by Woburn Pop Warner: In this past week the Sgt. Paul Connolly Trojan Woburn B Team lost their first game of the season to Reading.  It was hard to watch just as much as this was hard to write.  Reading started by taking control of the ball at the 27-yard line. Woburn’s Defense of Matthew Pollard, Luis Germano, Ryan Getherall, Ryan Chillemi, Charles O’Connor, Jesus Pizarro, David Lennon, Andre Eller, Nick Romeo and Tyler Hayden were definitely kept extremely busy and alert.  Colin Butcher, Luther Thiogene and Andrew Nicholas made some great tackles along the field in superb efforts of trying to stop Reading from gaining yards.
