Scoreboard Served Two-Day Liquor License Suspension for Over-Serving

Scoreboard management apologizes for the incidents and says it has measures in place to prevent over-serving.

Scoreboard Bar & Grill will lose its liquor license for two days, after several incidents of over-serving patrons.  The decision by the city's License Commission after reviewing evidence from Woburn Police was made Thursday. Scoreboard was charged with over-serving five unnamed patrons. Police noted that this error in judgment was the main influence in causing a fight to break out in the restaurant and parking lot which called five police cruisers to the scene—the fifth such incident this year. “The facts are adequately set forth, a violation of law occurred,” said City Solicitor John McElhiney. The Commission and Scoreboard's representatives, manager Frank Vento and attorney Tom Dangel, agreed to skirt the official hearing last week, …

Scoreboard Calls for Toy Donations

Scoreboard and Woburn Council of Social Concern team up to host a holiday toy drive.

Scoreboard, the sports bar and grill located at the Holiday Inn, wanted to give back to community this holiday season to show its gratitude towards Woburn. The restaurant is currently hosting a toy drive in partnership with the Woburn Council of Social Concern in order to garner toys for families in need. Lauren Fabbrucci, Scoreboard's promotions manager, explained how and why the restaurant got involved in this community effort to give needy children in Woburn a holiday gift. "There was a women's business association meeting I attended," she recalled. "I met a women who worked with Social Capital Inc. who is connected to Social Concern." Holiday Ornaments Adorn Scoreboard

Scoreboard Bar & Grill is celebrating the holiday season by decorating with handmade ornaments. All of the money raised by the sale of the ornaments goes to charity.

A big part of the holiday season is giving thanks for all you have. For the sports bar and grill Scoreboard, realizing what you're thankful for is only the first step, giving back to the community follows. This December, Scoreboard is selling homemade ornaments in an effort to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Woburn and their on-going charities and concerns for the youth of the Woburn community. Lauren Fabbrucci, Scoreboard's promotions manager, Fabbrucci details the special sale and how Scoreboards got involved in this collaborative. "We are selling smaller ornaments for $2 and larger ornaments for $5," she said. "People can write on the ornaments, dedicate them to someone, then we hang them all over the bar for people to see. …
