Woburn Storm Center: Closings, Parking Ban, No Driving and No Mail Delivery

Updated Saturday at 1:05 p.m. The snow has fallen and crews are out in force to clear the roads. According to NSTAR's power outage map, there are no major power outages in town. The travel ban decreed yesterday by Gov. Deval Patrick is still in effect until "further notice." The rationale is that the ban will make it easier for plows to clear the roads. There is no mail delivery today. Storm Moving into Woburn Area Tonight

The winter storm packed quite a punch down in the South; but what does it mean for Woburn?

The large winter storm that dropped inches of snow in the South is now headed towards the Northeast, although little snow accumulation is expected in Woburn. According to the National Weather Service's latest forecast, several inches of snow are expected to fall in the western part of the state tonight, but with temperatures hovering around 40 degrees in Woburn, the snow is expected to change over to rain or icy rain after midnight.  According to the WHDH 7Weather Blog, the snow will start tonight between 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. and quickly turn to rain in the Boston area. Although there will be little accumulation, drivers should be cautious as roads could get icy.  Rain and snow is likely Thursday before 9 p.m., but accumulation will be minimal…
