Playground Next to Police Station is Under Construction

New play equipment coming by end of the month.

When the sun returns and you’re looking to take children to a local playground, especially before school starts, stop before you head to the park next to the police station. That play area is under construction. The climbing equipment has been removed and new equipment has been ordered, according to Recreation Director Rory Lindstrom. The now-defunct equipment was very old and presented safety issues, Lindstrom said Monday. The surfacing was not proper, for example, she said. The new equipment will include a climbing structure and a separate toddler unit, Lindstrom said.  The new equipment will be about the same size as the previous structures, she said.
