Police arrested a Woburn man on a charge of drug possession following an ongoing narcotics investigation relating to the illegal sale and distribution of marijuana. According to a release, on Saturday, March 23, members of the Woburn Police Department Drug Unit arrested a man on charges related to drug distribution. The Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force and Woburn Police Department patrol officers also assisted in the investigation. Police arrested Wilson M. Tiburcio, 33 of 22B Mill St., Woburn, on a charge of one count of possession of a Class B drug (cocaine). Police found 0.8 grams of cocaine in Tiburcio's possession. A Woburn woman reportedly attacked police officers overnight in what appeared to be a drug-induced episode, said police. At 11:28 p.m., Beatrice Ortiz, 27, of 6 Kimball Court Apt. #114, was arrested and charged with assault and battery (domestic), assault and battery on a police officer (three counts), malicious damage to a motor vehicle (police cruiser) and resisting arrest. According to Woburn Police, officers were dispatched to Kimball Court for a report of a fight between two women. It's funny, Joan. I have said that many times. The City of Woburn is probably the only city or town without a K-9 unit. But it's the only one that really needs at least two. Why does Woburn always rely on Winchester, Burlington or Billierica for K-9 services?   more ›

A search warrant execution led to two Woburn residents being summonsed to court for drug charges. Sandra J. Tello, 29, of 16A High St., and Cliff Maingrette, 25, also of 16A High St., were summonsed for: According to police, Woburn officers and the Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force conducted a search warrant at the 16A High St. apartment as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged illegal distribution of Oxycodone and Cocaine by Tello and Maingrette.
