Woburn's forceful offense takes 9-1 win.
The Woburn High School girls’ hockey team demolished Winchester High School, 9-1, Saturday night at the O’Brien Ice Rink in Woburn. “I thought the kids played all right,” said WMHS coach Bob MacCurtain. “I mean the first period I didn’t think we were great. The score was 4-0, but I thought it was a lot of individual stuff and then we got better as the game went on.” The Tanners were up 4-0 with nearly one minute remaining in the first. Sophomore Kayla Smith netted Woburn’s first goal with a straight shot at 11:12, with assists from senior captain Colleen Martell and sophomore Cassandra Connolly.
