Watertown Fire Chief Mario Orangio expresses his pride in the job done by the Fire Department, including their rescue of MBTA Officer Richard Donohue, who was injured in the line of duty.
In a letter posted on Watertown Patch, Watertown Fire Chief Mario Orangio offered information on the hectic events of Thursday Night and Friday, including how department firefighters helped in the rescue of MBTA Officer Richard Donohue, Jr. Donohue, 33, of Woburn, was wounded Thursday night in a shoot-out with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects. The brother of Winchester native Richard "Dic" Donohue Jr., the MBTA Transit Police officer injured during a Thursday night shoot-out with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, has released a statement, according to a Tufts Medical Center press statement. In the statement, Edward Donohue, a Winchester Police officer, said: "Dic still has a long road to go before we can safely say he has made it out of the woods. We are proud of his actions and extremely grateful for those courageous officers and EMTs on scene who braved gunfire and explosives to render critical care to Dic that has brought us to this point. 108th meeting between the rivals goes to Woburn.
For the 108th time in history, the Woburn Memorial High School Tanners took on the Winchester Sachems on Thanksgiving Day. The traditional football game belonged to Woburn, as the Tanners won 32-14. The Sachems dominated the first quarter, scoring twice for a 14-0 lead. But the second belonged to Woburn. The Tanners scored 20 points in the second quarter, ending the half at 20-14. Woburn won the ball to start the second and continued to dominate. WMHS player Pat Doherty grabbed a five-yard touchdown in the third, bringing the score to 26-14 (the two-point conversion failed). The Tanners began to pull away in the late third, going into the fourth with the score remaining 26-14. Woburn scored again in the fourth, 32-14 with 8:29 left in …
