Two people were taken to Winchester Hospital following a rollover on Route 128 in Woburn Saturday evening, according to State Police Lt. Daniel Richard.
Two people were taken to Winchester Hospital following a rollover on Route 128 in Woburn Saturday evening, according to State Police Lt. Daniel Richard. At 5:38 p.m., State Police responded to a car rollover on Route 128 northbound, south of Washington Street, according to Richard. Police declined to comment on whether speed, alcohol, drugs or texting played a factor in the rollover. Richard said the incident is currently being investigated by State troopers from the Danvers Barracks. A pair of people in the vehicle were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to Richard. The brother of Winchester native Richard "Dic" Donohue Jr., the MBTA Transit Police officer injured during a Thursday night shoot-out with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, has released a statement, according to a Tufts Medical Center press statement. In the statement, Edward Donohue, a Winchester Police officer, said: "Dic still has a long road to go before we can safely say he has made it out of the woods. We are proud of his actions and extremely grateful for those courageous officers and EMTs on scene who braved gunfire and explosives to render critical care to Dic that has brought us to this point. There are scanner reports of a pedestrian accident on Olympia Avenue near Mishawum Road.
According to scanner traffic there has been an accident involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian on Olympia Avenue. According to the reports, the accident occurred in the Mishawum Road area. One patient is being transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington. The extend of the victim's injuries are not yet known. Woburn Patch will update as more information becomes available.
