ReplyWALTHAM is a Great City! Proud to say, we will be here soon sixteen (16) years! We have no intention other than to become the local dithering, very active, involved senior partner couple. Quality of Life is ever enhancing! As a point of reference .. check out ... Crescent Ridge Dairy Home Delivery .. free up you mundane shopping time to enjoy more of what the Watch City has to offer!!

On the article Should Scott Brown Run for Senate in N.H.?

ReplyDid someone shout carpetbagger? Scott Brown gives new meaning to the quick change artist. He sheds his state going from one to another as quickly as that photo shoot he was once on, only this time Scott Brown does not have the excuse of the folly of youth.

On the article What Do You Think of Waltham Restaurant Moving?
Joseph G. Paquette
7:49 am on Tuesday, March 19, 2013
ReplyLets STAND BEHIND In A Pickle's move! Yes, I will go to the new location and now with the increased size instead of meeting friends at the Arlington Diner, those friends can meet me and mine at In A Pickle. Has anyone said: "Thank You." to the restaurant for the commitment to both staying and expanding which will certainly add additional jobs and provide much need variety to the restaurant selections of Moody Street? Yes, this is an improvement to Moody Street! This also will free up what I hope is an affordable space for another young business to move in and begin the process once again! New location would be a GREAT spot for a once a week meet and greet for the Mayor & Waltham Government officials to gather at and answer questions from the citizens of the city of Waltham! How about a parade celebrating the growing life of Moody & Main Streets? Has anyone got the latest foot traffic in these two vital shopping streets?

On the article More Details Emerge on Proposed Waltham Development

Joseph G. Paquette
11:58 am on Tuesday, March 12, 2013
This is exactly why I shared my comments as to the concessions that can be obtained if THE CITY of WALTHAM acts to ACHIEVE THEM!! Not only is this "the vibrant dining and entertainment destination for Waltham," but Waltham as A City NEEDS that itself is a vibrant destination as a CITY and learn from the several failed efforts to add a vibrant segment to North Waltham.

On the article More Details Emerge on Proposed Waltham Development

ReplyThe CITY of Waltham and my fellow citizens have got to come to accept that WE live in a vital, growing, expanding high quality CITY, NOT an overgrown pleasant, quaint town. We NEED growth, we all can't commute, other communities all around us have strident standards that developers eagerly agree to. As part of Main Street sidewalks being expanded, what has the developer agreed to and pay for at the developer's expense as to: high quality urban tested quick growing greenery to include trees, a year round flower sidewalk edging arcade that who encourage the desire to enjoy this area from the walking experience in balance with the driving experience and enhance both?

On the article Should Waltham Hire More Snow Workers/Equipment?
Joseph G. Paquette
8:17 am on Monday, March 11, 2013
ReplyThe issue may be ...not the number of equipment or workers but the need for direct control with a clear line to City Hall and equally clear line of control of these winter NEEDS within City Hall.

On the article Markey or Lynch: Who Would You Vote for Today?
Joseph G. Paquette
6:18 am on Saturday, March 2, 2013
ReplyMarkey ...hands down, period.
I am looking for someone who will fight for us
in and/for the battles of the future today!
Not ongoing fighting the battles of the past,
under a different banner to no avail.
Has anyone considered just how far the USA
is behind in today's marketplace much less tomorrows?
In just the last few weeks, China, Mexico, and several other
nations have all announced high speed rail projects,
while the Governors of several states have refused
to accept already approved Federal dollars for such projects.
Markey has the vision to cast the votes needed for just such a future.
Not out of some well meaning concept, but to respond to the need required! -
On the article Sidewalk Shoveling Requirement For Waltham?
Joseph G. Paquette
4:42 pm on Monday, February 18, 2013
ReplyYes, period. If you want to see the WRONG WAY to meet neighbor to neighbor requirements ... observe the Bishops Condo complex long sidewalk with the trees and see how the sidewalk was clearly torn through the middle with the snow piled to the left and the right and just left on the public street.

My goal is in the fourth (4th) quarter of 2013 to be working for myself
and to be ready to celebrate my seventeenth (17th) year in Waltham on 1.1.2014!
To increase the awareness and the increased economic potential of
North Waltham as a destination jumping off point.
