Thank you State Representative Jim Dwyer!
Today the victims of violent crimes, their families and the law abiding citizens of this state receive justice. You had the courage and determination to stand up against monumental bureaucracy. You have made incredible strides in reshaping the parole board in maintaining the security of the citizens of this state by the passing of "three strikes" habitual offender bill, Melissa’s Bill. You were focused solely on the issues, you cared deeply for the victims, and you took the common sense approach to change a flawed system. This bill will make a profound impact for everyone. Unfortunately, the Gosule and Maguire families cannot experience the same, but they can at least take comfort in knowing that the tragedy they have endured was not in vein. The habitual offender of three convictions will finish out the sentence given before being released into society. Thank you for standing up for the rights of law abiding citizens!

One the advantages Woburn residents enjoy is the ability to use water and pay only a flat rate.
Alderman Haggerty and Alderman Anderson were elected to the City Council after the city was committed by a signed agreement with DEP of the installation of water meters. Mayor Galvin then Alderman was on the City Council but was not made aware of the agreement until after it had been signed. The city must comply with this order otherwise the city will incur fines which will be costly.
It is unfortunate that the taxpayers along with the City Council were not made aware of this proposal until after it was signed back in 2006. Alas water under the bridge. Our city officials must be diligent in trying to keep the rates down so the taxpayer does not get hosed with high rates.

The way to make yourself heard is by not purchasing gasoline or having them do any form of maintenance on your vehicle. If eveyone complains about these alleged unethical business practices it will be the quickest way to their downfall.
This form of business is morally and socially unacceptable, and any company that does this should not be allowed to conduct business in Woburn or in any other community.

William, you certainly are not up on your local politics. Mr. Gosule father of murdered daughter Melissa Gosule and Chuck Maguire the brother of murdered Officer Jack Maguire along with a bipartisan group of law makers which included our own State Representative Jim Dwyer urged the law makers on Beacon Hill to pass Mellisa bill.
The bill would insure that convicted felons serve the sentence that was given.
I suggest you contact the Other Politicians that are dragging their feet regarding this serious bill instead of wasting time trying to discredit State Representative Jim Dwyer with baseless accusations , I suggest that you pull papers and run for office yourself.

William as stated in my comment made to you regarding State Representative Dwyer's " track record" speaks for itself. I believe it shows clearly what the State Representative stands for. The State Representative has taken many bipartisan stands because he believed it was the right thing to do as a Representative and a citizen of our great city. State Representative Dwyer has an open door policy one I think you should utilize because clearly you are very misinformed on where he stands on the issues. I might suggest you call him at the State House and voice your concerns instead of your baseless writings on a comments block

William, I must correct you once again on your comment, if you look at your's posted on 9/7/11 @ 9:46 pm you clearly speak about "his" support of tax hikes, I mearly corrected the inaccurate statement which you had made, and again this article is regarding the unfortunate shooting of a great police officer who put his life on the line to protect the citizens of Woburn such as yourself, I don't think Officer DeNapoli was thinking of politics at the time.

The article at hand is regarding the horrific shooting of one of Woburn's finest and no where in this article is the mention of a tax holiday. My thoughts and prayers go out to the DeNapoli family for a speedy recovery and hopefully law enforcement can apprehend the people responsible for this tragedy

William,State Rep. Dwyer worked for the probation department, not the parole
board. The Parole Board is a completely different entity and it was that
board's members that let the people of Woburn and the state down by allowing
such a career criminal out. You can't call it a "loophole" when it was human
error, especially seeing that the DA wasn't notified of the criminals parole
hearing.State Rep. Dwyer has been working hard on rallying support from his
colleagues, and has worked directly with Chuck Maguire, brother of fallen
Officer Jack Maguire. If someone works 34 years in a career, they deserve a
pension. Since he is in his 3rd year as a State Rep, he isn't eligible for a
pension for another 7 years, due mostly in part to Pension Reform HE voted
in favor of. Between fighting for permanent sales tax holiday, ethics
reform, Parole Board reform, Secure Communities, etc. I would find it hard
to characterize his efforts on behalf of Woburn as "fluff". I would suggest
that you do some more homework before attacking someones record and probably
find a more appropriate forum to discuss State Rep. Dwyer's record than an article
about the travesty that occurred yesterday.
