New Editor Takes Over Woburn Patch

Hello Woburn! My name is Matt Schooley, and I am the new editor of Woburn Patch.

THIS JUST IN TO WOBURN PATCH – OK. Now that I’ve got your attention… Hi, my name is Matt Schooley and I am the new Local Editor for Woburn Patch.

For nearly three years I have covered a variety of towns for Patch, including Woburn at times, and I am really looking forward to focusing my time on the hometown of the Tanners.

After I was hired by Patch in 2011, I covered Wilmington for about two years until I switched to a Field Editor position that handled eight towns, with Woburn among them.

For a little bit of background on myself, I originally am from New Hampshire where I worked for Neighborhood News for nearly four years, covering a long list of communities for four weekly newspapers.

I am a huge sports fan, and you’ll likely see that in my coverage. In addition to covering meetings, police happenings, and community events, I am also planning on bringing a great deal of sports coverage to the site. I also love to add video to my stories whenever possible.

From what I know about Woburn, I feel confident saying that I am going to enjoy working with the City of Woburn and the readers of Woburn Patch.

As the new guy in town, I want to hear from you. What is the biggest story happening now or coming up in Woburn? What do you want to see covered on the site?

My cell phone number is (978) 761-9473, and my email address is matthew.schooley@patch.com. And don’t forget to be sure that you follow Woburn Patch on Twitter and Facebook for all the latest news in the city.

I won’t be able to cover all of the happenings in your town without your help. If you have a question, concern, or story idea, don’t hesitate to reach out.

So to quote the classic movie Casablanca – Woburn, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
