Lexington Community Education presents: Rock & Roll vs The Greed Gene - An Evening with Musician and Author John Densmore of the Doors

How is it that even for some of the world’s wealthiest people no amount of money is enough? While diametrically opposed to the underlying spirit and music of The Doors, this type of greedy impulse fractured the band over the legal rights to The Doors’ name. The “greed gene”, and how that part of the human psyche propels people toward the accumulation of more and more wealth, even at the expense of principles, friendships, art, and societal well- being, is the subject of John Densmore’s latest book. This evening John will talk about his book The Doors: Unhinged, and share what it is like to be both the musical timekeeper and financial gatekeeper against greed for one of the most creative and celebrated rock bands in history.

An original and founding member of the musical group The Doors, John Densmore co-wrote and produced numerous gold and platinum albums and toured the United States, Europe, and Japan. His autobiography, Riders on the Storm, was on the New York Times bestseller lists. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.

The cost of this evening's event is $10.00.

Pre-registration, using a VISA or MasterCard, is strongly recommended by contacting Lexington Community Education at 781 862 8043.
